Shift & Scheduling

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Weekends Required: Every other weekend
• On Call: Not required
  
  

Unit Information

• Beds: 44
• Staffing:
• Day Shift: 2 CNC/Charge RNs, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, 1 HUC
• Night Shift: 2 CNC/Charge RNs, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, 1 HUC
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 at standard grid, 5:1 when stretched
• EMR System: Cerner
• Equipment Used: IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, Chest tubes, Trachs, Patient lifts

Skills & Experience RequirementsRequired:

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications
• Neuro and trauma care experience
  
  

Preferred:

• Additional neuro and trauma care experience
  
  

Typical Procedures Performed:

• Neuro and spinal checks
• C-Collar placement, TLSO braces
• Chest tube management
• PCA pump and IV infusions
• Lumbar drain management
• Feeding tube placement
• Blood transfusions
  
  

Floating Requirements

• Stepdown units
• Med-surg units
  
  

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• NIH Stroke Certification
  
  

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Navy blue
